Why This Matters

In a democracy, every vote counts, and every voice deserves to be heard. Yet, the voting process can be complex, with varying rules and regulations across states and frequent changes in election laws. That's where our VoteLibraries initiative comes in—making sure that everyone, regardless of their zip code or background, has the information they need to participate fully in our democratic process.

With Vote411, the League’s trusted nonpartisan platform, voters can access a comprehensive “one-stop-shop” for all things election-related. Available in both English and Spanish, Vote411 provides everything from voter registration tools to personalized ballot information, ensuring that voters are prepared to make their voices heard in every election, whether local, state, or federal.

What You Can Expect

Through this initiative, libraries will be equipped with the resources and support to host robust voter information and election support programs. Our goal is to ensure that every library is a hub of civic engagement, offering:

• Voter Registration Support: Online tools to register to vote, verify registration status, and meet registration deadlines for all voting methods.

• Comprehensive Voting Information: Resources that guide voters through the process, from understanding eligibility requirements to finding polling locations and understanding voting machines.

• Personalized Ballot Information: Voters can explore the candidates and ballot issues specific to their address, complete with detailed information and direct responses from candidates.

• Election Day Planning: Information on all voting options, including early voting, absentee, and mail-in ballots, helping voters plan how they’ll cast their ballot in a way that fits their lives.
