Free Webinars and Events

EveryLibrary’s VoteLibraries initiative is proud to present our training webinar series designed for library professionals to learn more about civic engagement and election administration. Our webinar series will focus on topics such as driving election information campaigns in your community, vocabulary building around democracy and voting, election law 101, engaging patrons in civic engagement, election misinformation and disinformation, and more.

Public libraries are uniquely positioned within the American civic and social landscape to create pathways for voters to deepen their participation in democracy. VoteLibrary’s vision for improving election participation is to see a society where libraries are supported and empowered to help everyone who is eligible to vote be able to vote. Our vision for election participation is rooted in our belief in the transformative power of libraries and the proximity libraries have to Americans from every walk of life. These trainings will empower library professionals, like you, to help more of your patrons and community members register to vote, elevate opportunities for election administration within your library space, and acculturate you in your role as centers in your community by providing nonpartisan election information.

These curated webinars are designed by library professionals to help you and your library succeed in developing strategic goals toward increasing voter registration and ballot participation to reinforce Democracy within your community.

Living Room Conversations: Holding Trustworthy Local Elections

Join Us for a Conversation That Strengthens Democracy - Starting at the Neighborhood Level

In a moment when trust in institutions is under strain and misinformation threatens civic participation, local elections remain the foundation of American democracy. On February 10, EveryLibrary Institute, in partnership with Living Room Conversations, invites you into an interactive, facilitated discussion about what it means to build and protect trustworthy local elections and the essential role that libraries play in that work.

This 90-minute online session will bring together library leaders, advocates, educators, and civic partners for a meaningful exchange focused on practical strategies, shared experiences, and real-world impact.

Libraries as Civic Laboratories

At EveryLibrary Institute, we view libraries as “civic laboratories,” places where communities don’t just learn about democracy, but actively practice it. Participants in this conversation will explore:

  • Why trustworthy local elections are vital to democratic stability

  • How misinformation and disinformation undermine public confidence

  • The critical role of libraries and trusted community institutions in rebuilding trust

  • How voting systems and civic practices function in your own community

  • Practical ways libraries can foster informed, confident civic participation

About the Partnership

We are proud to partner with Living Room Conversations, a national organization dedicated to bridgebuilding and respectful dialogue across differences. After attending, you’ll also learn how your library can host similar conversations in your own community spaces.

This session is part of the VoteLibraries initiative from the EveryLibrary Institute, which supports libraries in their mission to ensure that all citizens who want to vote are registered, informed, and empowered to access the ballot.
