Vote Libraries Month Because You Care About Libraries

I know you care a lot about libraries. Certainly more than the average American. I am glad that you aware and activated. And I’m proud that EveryLibrary can help you put your beliefs into action. We too care about our country and know that libraries are a critical part of our schools, communities, and campuses.

This month - before Election Day - I need your help sharing the Vote Libraries message. We need to share the message widely because now is the time folks are listening to messages about campaigns and elections. There is a tremendous interest in our country to do something that matters in society and builds up our communities. Can you help us reach more people who care about libraries?

Sign and share the pledge to vote yes for libraries in the United States!

If we want libraries to have the funding they need in future, Americans from all walks of life and political perspectives need to Vote for Libraries on Election Day. You can quickly share the #votelibraries message and encourage people across your personal networks to ‘Take the Pledge’ on votelibraries.org. We want as many Americans as possible to hear this call to action.

As the only national political action committee for libraries, we know how important it is for someone to take a pledge and not just click like on a social media post. When someone takes the Vote Libraries pledge, they are “on record” as a voter who cares about libraries. It lets us keep in touch with them about critical issues like the upcoming re-authorization of the Museum and Library Services Act. When they pledge, we always share that pledge with our local, state and national partners, so when there is a local campaign they are ready, and when there are challenges or opportunities, we can work together to succeed.

Vote Libraries Month is more than a slogan or a hashtag. EveryLibrary is actively advertising the #votelibraries message across social media this Election season. We are spending money on ads to break through the noise and the clutter, because that’s what we need to do.  It’s amazing to me that we already have nearly 300,000 people we can reach on social media for libraries.
